CreaText is a free HTML text editor with some basic and advanced features.

What is special about CreaText ?

CreaText has got many functions which make creating websites easier, e.g. Tag coloring, easy access to the Mac browsers (MS Internet Explorer, Netscape Communicator, iCab, HelpViewer, OmniWeb and Opera), the change of special characters into HTML characters, an Insert menu with rapid access to all usual HTML commands, a HTML color chooser, drag & drop, an assistance to create tables and the possibility to setup HTML parameters when creating a new document.

Planned features

I hope I can implement the following features in the future:

<LI>A completed help or even a PDF-manual (no time!)</LI>

<LI>An XHTML/XML supporting version of CreaText</LI>

<LI>Syntax check</LI>
<LI>A MacOS X version</LI>

<B>Please note:</B> This release should be somehow "final". I don't plan to change much in the next months. I don't have much time in the following months to implement much new. Maybe there will be some service updates to fix bugs or change some minor things. But the features listed above will be implemented in a future far, far away. I can only say: If you can implement one of these things, you can contribute and I'll implement it as fast as possible, but there won't change much in the next time.

Registration fee
</FONT><BR>
CreaText is Freeware, that means you don't have to pay anything for it. But if you like it, I would be glad if you sent me some comments or tell me some things that should be implemented in the next release. I would also be glad if you put a small "Made with CreaText" and a link to my Homepage or to the CreaText page on your page.<BR>
If you're a REALbasic programmer and want something more complex to be implemented, such as a FTP-Upload option, you could send me the code and I'd integrate it into CreaText. Of course, I'd mention you in the About box.

By using this software you accept that I (Marius Soutier) am not responsible for any harm or loss CreaText does to your computer.<BR>
CreaText may only be distributed as a whole and you are not allowed to extract any contents and use them for your own shareware or commercial product.<BR>
